We’re excited to participate in Printed Matter’s New York Art Book Fair.
This year Torpedo Press has the pleasure of launching the English edition of Hans Hamid Rasmussen's critically acclaimed Elva er et annet sted- Bilder fra tømmerfløting på Glomma, published in Norwegian in 2022. The River is Elsewhere - Images of Log Driving on the Glomma presents translations of the original texts, a new foreword by the editor, Ellef Prestsæter, as well as a photographic print by Hans Hamid Rasmussen.
Jonas Ekeberg's Post Nordic - The Rise and Fall of a Nordic Art Scene 1986-2006 will be made available to English readers for the first time.
With us in the suitcase, we bring Sille Storihles's The Stonewall Nation which engages the archival remains of a gay colony that a group of gay men wanted to establish in Alpine County in Northern California in the early 1970s.
Other titles from the Torpedo Press catalog will also be available. Including publications from Praksis Oslo, Liv Bugge, Ane Hjort Guttu, Dora Garcia, and more.

I forbindelse med kunstbokmønstringen "Ekstra! Ekstra!" i Guttormsgaards arkiv, presenterer Torpedo: Bok om bok - et utvalg titler fra Torpedos arkiv i biblioteket.
Vi viser faksimiler og kunstnerbøker fra: Danielle Aubert, Lene Berg, Liv Bugge, Sarah Crowner, Jan Freuchen, Lina Viste Grønli, Brian Kennon, Alison Knowles, Per Oskar Leu, Michalis Pichler, James Hoff og forlaget Primary Information m.fl.
På mønstringen lanserer vi i tillegg Kunsten å publisere: relevante tekster på norsk - en pamflettserie for etablerte og kommende klassikere innen kunstnerisk publisering. Første tittel ut: Definisjon av Magnús Pálsson.

Hans Hamid Rasmussen's Elva er et annet sted (The River is Elsewhere) is featured in the new issue of the MacGuffin magazine! Included is also an English translation of Per Petterson's afterword to Rasmussen's book, recounting a childhood memory of the spectacle of timber floating.
MacGuffin issues No. 12 – The Log and No. 11 - The Chain (which has a large section on Jacqueline de Jong and The Situationist Times) are available in our online bookstore.

Lysbildeturné: Elva er et annet sted
I forlengelsen av suksessen med boka Elva er et annet sted: Bilder fra tømmerfløting på Glomma, er Hans Hamid Rasmussen for tiden ute på lysbildeturné langs den gamle tømmerruta. Han har gjennom våren fylt forsamlingslokaler på steder som Skarnes, Rakkestad, Furuholmen og Tolga, og 24. juni besøker han M.S.K. Rismoens Eftf. på Hofoss.
Neste stopp blir Skiptvet 29. juli. Turneen fortsetter til høsten, følg med!

Cataloging artistic publishing
In collaboration with Lotte Grønneberg, Karen Grønneberg, and Dušan Barok, Torpedo is working on developing a digital catalog for artistic publishing in Norway. On March 23-24, Vilde Andrea Brun, Vibeke O’Rourke, Ellef Prestsæter, Elise Storsveen, and Trond Hilmar Søbstad joined us for a workshop devoted to the issues of cataloging, observing the clashing of artists’ book and library standards.

Open Creation and Its Enemies: Asger Jorn in Situation
The ST Player now on view in Valencia!
The ST Player, developed by the Institute for Computational Vandalism in connection with our publication These Are Situationist Times! (2019), is currently on view at IVAM in Valencia as part of the exhibition Open Creation and Its Enemies: Asger Jorn in Situation. The Player, a digital interface to Jacqueline de Jong's legendary magazine project The Situationist Times, may also be accessed here.

The ST Player now on view in Valencia!
